President Donald Trump on Friday said he was considering military options in response to the seemingly never ending political turmoil engulfing Venezuela. The President went on to describe the situation in the South American country as “a very dangerous mess”.
“We have many options for Venezuela, including a possible military option if necessary,” Trump told reporters in New Jersey.
“We have troops all over the world in places that are very far away. Venezuela is not very far away and the people are suffering and they’re dying.” The President said.
Washington has already enacted sanctions on Venezuela’s President Maduro and some of his allies, branding the embattled leader as a “dictator”. Maduro responded by accusing Washington of “American Imperialism”
Almost 130 people have been killed in clashes between protesters and the armed forces.
