History
Watson is a Swiss digital news and entertainment outlet launched in January 2014 by FixxPunkt AG. It publishes German- and French-language content aimed primarily at younger and mobile audiences.
Nadine Sommerhalder has served as editor-in-chief of its German-language edition since July 2023. Watson combines national and international news with sports, lifestyle, commentary, quizzes, videos, and viral content.

Funded by / Ownership
Watson is part of CH Media, which acquired a majority interest in its parent company, FixxPunkt AG, in 2023. Since April 2026, CH Media has been wholly owned by the Wanner family through AZ Medien after purchasing the remaining shares from the NZZ media group.
The publication is funded primarily through advertising, sponsored content, commercial partnerships, and reader-related services. CH Media describes Watson as one of Switzerland’s largest advertising-funded digital news portals.
