TVN24 has been owned since July 2017 by the US-based media company Warner Bros. Discovery. Prior to that, it was 100% owned by U.S.-based Discovery, Inc. since 2015 via its subsidiary Polish Television Holding BV. Advertising generates revenue.
Analysis / Bias
TVN24 has been criticized for its overall bias against PiS, the ruling party in Poland. This suggests a left-leaning bias, as PiS is a right-wing party. The channel has been fined by Poland’s media regulator KRRiT for alleged bias against the ruling party. An article on their website titled “PiS govt and Polish military in election campaign. Kantar poll for “Fakty” TVN and TVN24″ criticizes the PiS government for allegedly using the military in its election campaign, further supporting claims of a left-leaning bias.
