Analysis / Bias
The Counter Signal website consists of links to news stories, The Show, which lists one episode from 2020, Petitions, and a newsletter. Under the news category, original reporting is conducted by Keean Bexte that demonstrates far-right bias such as this WATCH: Non-white convoy supporters tell Trudeau to go f*ck himself and this BREAKING: Justin Trudeau goes into hiding following negative COVID test. This latter story is poorly sourced from Tweets.
From an editorial perspective, they align with the far-right as most content on the website is emotional and opinionated, favoring a conservative view. At the time of this review, The Counter Signal was strongly in favor of the Canadian Trucker Convoy protesting mask and vaccine mandates Trudeau Minister calls peaceful Convoy protesters rapists. Further, they also promote conspiracy theories and false information such as this “SHOCK POLICY: Ottawa may euthanize truckers’ pets as punishment.” The Counter Signal holds a far-right editorial bias and promotes misinformation.
