Emails of top officials at the campaign arm for House Republicans were hacked during the 2018 midterm election cycle, a spokesman confirmed to NBC News.
The National Republican Campaign Committee said Tuesday that it had launched an internal probe and reported the cyber-attack to the FBI. The hack, in which four senior committee staffers had their emails surveilled for months, is believed to have been perpetrated by a foreign agent.
