Founded in 1867, The Star Tribune is the largest newspaper in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The Star Tribune serves the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area and is distributed throughout the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area, the state of Minnesota and the Upper Midwest. It typically contains a mixture of national, international, and local news, sports, business, and lifestyle content.

The paper is privately published by Star Tribune Media Company LLC, which is owned by Glenn Taylor, who is an American billionaire businessman who is the majority owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves NBA basketball team, owner of the Minnesota Lynx WNBA basketball team and a former Republican member of the Minnesota Senate. The paper is funded through advertising and subscriptions.

Analysis / Bias

In review, the Minneapolis Star Tribune covers local news through journalists with minimal bias such as this: Taxes may rise on cabins rented part time. National and international news is republished through the Associated Press. The newspaper also features a section dedicated to politics that utilize such sources as the New York Times and the Associated Press.

Editorially, the Star Tribune has endorsed Democratic Presidential candidates since 1984, including Hillary Clinton in 2016.
