Sparks/CnnTimes – Bias and Credibility

Sparks/CnnTimes - Left BiasFactual Reporting: Mixed - Not always Credible or Reliable

LEFT BIAS

These media sources are moderately to strongly biased toward liberal causes through story selection and/or political affiliation.  They may utilize strong loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes), publish misleading reports and omit reporting of information that may damage liberal causes. Some sources in this category may be untrustworthy. See all Left Bias sources.

Factual Reporting: MIXED

Sparks/CnnTimes is a news and opinion blog/website without an about or contact page with a misleading domain name. Sparks/CnnTimes is typically well-sourced and usually points to credible sources. However, there are occasions when they use sources such as Alternet, that has a mixed factual rating. In other cases, they make unverified claims such as President Trump having Alzheimer’s Disease. In this case, they used multiple sources to support their claim, but without an actual medical diagnosis, this amounts to propaganda/conspiracy. All articles reviewed demonstrated a very strong liberal bias through sensationalized headlines and through reporting choices. Essentially, all articles reviewed were pro-left and anti-right. Due to strong liberal bias in reporting we rate Sparks/CnnTimes as mixed for factual reporting and with a borderline extreme left-wing bias. (M. Huitsing 7/27/2017)
