Founded in 1827, the London Evening Standard (simply the Evening Standard before May 2009) is a local, free daily newspaper, published Monday to Friday in tabloid format in London. Before 2009 the London Evening Standard was subscription-based.

The newspaper is owned by Russian businessman and former KGB agent Alexander Lebedev and is now funded through advertising.

Analysis / Bias

After the purchase of the paper in 2009 the paper began endorsing conservative candidates in London and throughout the UK. News stories also began favoring more conservative positions as reflected by story choices. The London Evening Standard typically sources properly and can be considered factual.
