Analysis / Bias

In 2022, Reporters Without Borders ranked Italy 58/180 in their Press Freedom Index. They report that journalists are “still under police protection.” Currently, the Prime Minister of Italy is Mario Draghi, who leans center-left due to a coalition government.

In review, Corriere della Sera reports news, national and international politics, sports, lifestyle, economics, and entertainment. Articles and headlines typically do not use loaded language such as this: Salvini expels the imam who attacked Daniela Santanchè: “He incited Islamic terrorism.” Further, news stories are properly sourced from first-hand accounts, quotations, videos, or external hyperlinking.

When reporting on the USA, they typically report neutrally and use quotations from political leaders and experts such as this: Coronavirus in the USA, Fauci: «With the reopening, there is the risk of unnecessary deaths.»  Editorially the paper presents both sides without the use of loaded emotional language. In general, this is a factual news source that is least biased.
