These media sources are slightly to moderately conservative in bias. They often publish factual information that utilizes loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes) to favor conservative causes. These sources are generally trustworthy for information, but may require further investigation. See all Right-Center sources.
Factual Reporting: HIGH
Notes: Columbia Daily Herald or The Daily Herald is a daily newspaper founded in 1848, based in Columbia, Tennessee. The paper is owned by New Media Investment Group (Gatehouse Media) and James Bennett is the Editor of the paper. The Columbia Daily Herald covers both international and national news as well as news local to its circulation area.
In review, the Columbia Daily Herald uses credible sources in their reporting. For example, they often republish articles from the Washington Post, such as: “Corker stands by his comments about Trump’s stability, competence.” Editorially, their opinion pieces are often right biased and use loaded language such as this: “Hillary prepares to assault capitalism.” Their news reporting is typically balanced and free from loaded language. We also could not find any instances of failed fact checks. Overall, we rate the Columbia Daily Herald Right-Center biased based on Op-Eds, and High for factual news reporting. (M.
