X Adds Option to Block Grok AI From Reimagining Uploaded Images

X has introduced a new toggle within its image and video upload settings that allows users to block its Grok AI bot from generating alternate versions of their uploaded media. The feature arrives amid multiple regulatory investigations into Grok’s earlier ability to generate unauthorized sexualized or “nudified” images of people, which at one point reportedly produced thousands of suggestive images per hour. While X updated Grok in January to limit such outputs and restrict image-generation tools to paying users, critics say loopholes remained that allowed harmful deepfakes. Bluesky CEO Jay Graber Steps Down as Platform Looks to Scale

Bluesky CEO Jay Graber announced she will step down after more than four years leading the decentralized social network, transitioning into a chief innovation officer role. Toni Schneider, former CEO of Automattic and partner at True Ventures, will serve as interim CEO while the company searches for a permanent replacement. Since launching with Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey in 2023, Bluesky has grown to about 43 million users and helped expand the AT Protocol ecosystem with hundreds of third-party apps. YouTube Expands AI Likeness Detection Tool to Politicians and Journalists

YouTube announced it will broaden access to its AI-powered likeness detection tool, allowing a pilot group of politicians and journalists to identify and report AI-generated content that impersonates them. The feature flags videos that use a person’s likeness and enables users to request removal if the content violates YouTube policies. Company officials say the expansion aims to address rising risks of AI impersonation in civic spaces while still protecting parody, satire, and other public-interest content.
