The code of principles of the International Fact-Checking Network IFCN at Poynter is a series of commitments organizations abide by to promote excellence in fact-checking. The following fact checks come from IFCN fact checkers. (D. Van Zandt)

Claim by Facebook posts: Says a photo of Donald Trump watching the Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi raid was staged.

PolitiFact
rating: Evidence suggests image taken during raid

Claim by Robin Vos: Says “red flag laws” allow gun seizure without a judge’s involvement: “They take it away first. Then you have to get permission from a judge to do it.”

Claim by Facebook posts: Says Hillary Clinton “paid for a Russian dossier to win an election,” her husband “made $500k for a Russian speech,” “sold 20% of US Uranium to Russia” and her foundation “received $150M from Russia.”

Claim by Andrew Napolitano: The impeachment inquiry hearings “going on behind closed doors over which Congressman Schiff is presiding—they are consistent with the rules” of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Claim by Facebook posts: Says that Olive Garden is “funding” President Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign.

International Fact Checks

Claim: A majority of voters say violence against MPs is “worth it” to get their way in Brexit.

Full Fact
rating: Incorrect. A majority said the “risk of violence” is “a price worth paying”. There’s a big distinction between the two, and survey it’s based on suffers from a number of flaws.

Claim: According to German TV, there were 2.2 million at the People’s Vote march in London on Saturday 19 October.

Full Fact
rating: We’ve seen no evidence any German TV station said this. Best estimates suggest the number was in the low hundreds of thousands. Two million is an implausible estimate.

Claim by Multiple sources: An Algerian hacker hanged for stealing money from Israeli banks
