Trump faces 2020 headwinds but is bolstered by GOP support and strong economy, according to new NBC/WSJ poll

41 percent of Americans would vote for President Donald Trump’s re-election, while 60 percent disapprove of his emergency declaration for a border wall and a majority say he hasn’t been truthful when it comes to the Russia investigation, a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll finds.

But nearly 90 percent of Republicans approve of the job Trump is doing as president and a majority believe the country won’t see an economic recession in the next year, factors that suggest the 2020 presidential election will not be a sure thing for Democrats.
