Analysis / Bias

In review, the Washington Blade publishes news related to LGBT issues and community.  There is minimal use of loaded language in articles such as this: John McCain leaves complicated legacy on LGBT rights. Story selection tends to favor the left as they cover social issues related to the LGBT community. Information contained in the stories is properly sourced to credible media outlets and is usually balanced and well written.

A factual search reveals they have not failed a fact check by IFCN fact checkers.

Overall, we rate the Washington Blade Left-Center biased based on story selection that favors left leaning issues and High for factual reporting due to proper sourcing and a clean fact check record. (5/12/2017) Updated (D. Van Zandt 8/31/2018)
