Trump says he has ‘absolute right’ to pardon himself

President Donald Trump asserted Monday that he has the “absolute right” to pardon himself, but won’t need to because he’s done nothing wrong.

“As has been stated by numerous legal scholars, I have the absolute right to PARDON myself, but why would I do that when I have done nothing wrong?” Trump tweeted. The president commented the day after one of his lawyers, Rudy Giuliani, said Trump’s pardoning himself would be “unthinkable” and could lead to impeachment.
