In an effort to take a stand for science in politics, American scientists are coming together to protest the Trump administration’s resistance to scientists communicating their findings to the public by planning a “Scientists’ March on Washington.”
“Slashing funding and restricting scientists from communicating their findings (from tax-funded research!) with the public is absurd and cannot be allowed to stand as policy,” reads a statement on the march’s website.
President Trump has repeatedly voiced his skepticism of the human impact on climate change and has called it a hoax on more than one occasion, but a statement on the march’s website argues that “[t]here are certain things we accept as facts with no alternatives. The Earth is becoming warmer due to human action.”
The march is non-partisan, and the march’s website encourages anyone who values empirical science to join.
