Founded in 2009, The Tab is a youth news site published by Digitalbox Publishing LTD. It was launched at the University of Cambridge and has expanded to over 40 other universities in the United Kingdom and over 40 in the United States and Canada. The Tab publishes a variety of stories, with many about college news.

Digitalbox Publishing Limited owns and publishes The Tab. In September 2017, News Corp was the main investor of $6m (£4.6m) of new funding raised by Tab Media. Advertising is the primary source of revenue.

Analysis / Bias

The Tab publishes news geared toward young readers, often covering politics. Stories frequently report on youth and student culture. Articles and headlines use emotionally loaded language such as this The UK’s unis are institutionally racist, admits uni Vice-Chancellor. They also publish clickbait-type stories such as this These 27 memes from last night’s Line of Duty will make you laugh like a wee donkey. Articles tend to be reasonably sourced.

Editorially, the website site offers an opinion section that moderately favors a progressive perspective such as this As we’re talking about blood clots, where is the government’s energy to improve the pill? And this Anti-Asian violence has been ignored for too long. It’s time to wake up. A review of dozens shows that most either slightly or strongly favor the left.
